- Virtual Hospital - The Virtual Hospital, a digital health sciences library, was founded in 1992 as a public service of The University of Iowa. It is designed to lower barriers to accessing authoritative information and is based on the philosophy that learning is an apprenticeship, and that apprentice learners - health care providers and patients - need convenient access to authoritative information. The Virtual Hospital delivers information to health care providers at the point-of-care to help them take better care of their patients and delivers information to patients at home to help them live healthier lives.
The Virtual Hospital contains over 350 peer-reviewed books and booklets from 160 authors in 29 departments and 4 colleges on The University of Iowa campus.
