- Connections in Space - A wonderful website which utilises the simple concept of the London Tube map in order to link together many topics associated with the theme of ‘Connections in Space.’ Each ‘line’ considers a theme, while each ‘station’ links to a number of images – some scientific, others artistic. Themes include ‘Form and Structure, ‘ ‘Randomness and Order,’ ‘Inner and outer Space’ and ‘Patterns and Space Filling.’ Developed by John Barrow, a cosmologist from Cambridge University and art historian Martin Kemp. Useful for KS5 and beyond.

- Galaxies - David Malin is a photographer based at the Anglo-Australian Observatory
in Epping, New South Wales. He has captured the most beautiful images of
our universe. His photos have appeared on postage stamps, the covers of
New Scientist and National Geographic and have been exhibited around the world.
He has taken pictures of galaxies, supernovas, nebulae and other cosmic
objects. One of his photos revealed the most massive galaxy ever
discovered - 10 times bigger than the Milky Way. Fittingly, it is now
called Malin1.
This site is superb.

- Prominent Fraunhofer Lines (Solar Spectrum) - Wonderful image of the Solar Spectrum, showing the prominent absorption lines due to chemical elements present in its outer atmosphere. Difficult to find!
