  • Educational videos on YouTube - A collection of YouTube videos selected by a physics teacher for their educational value  (Added: 10-Nov-2009 By: AdC Hits: 31)
  • Flash Animations for Physics - includes almost 100 excellent flash animations for illustrating Physics content. Topics are many and varied and will find use at KS3 upwards. An excellent resource to liven your whiteboard The animations are sorted by category, and the file size of each animation is included in the listing.  (Added: 6-Sep-2006 By: DP Hits: 853)
  • Footprints-Science - This website contains 50 animations and interactive activities for teaching science. It is excellent for use with interactive whiteboards. The animations include the Kidney, Fertilisation, Periodic Table, Ionic bonding, Power Stations, Phases of the Moon and much more. It also has some useful pages for teaching How Science Works and coursework skills.  (Added: 20-Mar-2007 By: RP Hits: 418)
  • General - A book of demonstrations (unpublished on paper) for US college physics courses. Many are applicable to UK courses - includes many 'classic' experiments.  (Added: 13-Jun-1998 By: RSDP Hits: 843)
  • How Stuff Works - This is a wonderful place to learn about how things work. It describes how a wide range of everyday things function - it is full of examples of how Physics applies to the real world. A new article gets added every week.  (Added: 25-Jan-1999 By: DP Hits: 1033)
  • Institute of Physics - Section of the IoP website promoting the effective teaching of phsyics in schools and colleges.  (Added: 22-May-2007 By: JD Hits: 243)
  • Insultingly Stupid Movie Physics - This site may prove useful when you decide which films to watch - look for the ones in which supposedly serious scenes totally disregard the laws of physics. Some insultingly stupid movie physics are so commonplace, they have become visual clichés. Since it’s inception, in 1997, this site has provided a service in the hopes of improving this deplorable matter. As they put it, ‘in the name of physics decency, to protect the minds of children everywhere, so that they may grow up in a world where they know the difference between speed and velocity, we have taken the responsibility to rate movies for their portrayal of excessively bad physics.’  (Added: 14-Aug-2004 By: DP Hits: 617)
  • Laser Eye Surgery - This website aims to provide objective information to the public about LASIK surgery. It is American, but contains useful information for anyone contemplating this treatment. Regularly updated.  (Added: 18-Jul-2002 By: MA Hits: 623)
  • Physics 2000 - A set of animations (running as Java applets) that are aimed primarily at level three. Titles include Water in a Microwave, Young's two-slit experiment, Feynman's two-slit experiment, X ray emissions, Interactive force field (where the student can move test charges around in an electric field), Television pixel scanning and many more.  (Added: 28-Feb-2000 By: EB Hits: 965)
  • Physics Java Applets - Written by Reddy B. Surendranath in India, the applets cover a wide range of Physics based topics from basic wave motion to the motion of particles in electric and magnetic fields, and Youngs double slit.  (Added: 22-Jul-2002 By: DP Hits: 857)
  • Physics questions - This is the companion website to Douglas Giancoli's textbook, Physics, Principles with Applications. Huge range of questions, many are automatically marked. Results can be emailed. Good for AS/A2 Level Physics.  (Added: 10-Mar-2002 By: PG Hits: 857)
  • Physics Review Focus - This site, produced by the American Physical Society (APS) provides explanations of one or two articles per week from Physical Review Letters. It is intended to be understood by level three and four students. The articles include colour images and, on occasion, videos.  (Added: 17-May-1999 By: DP Hits: 622)
  • Physics4You - The website of the long-running and well-used series of textbooks includes a number of downloadable PowerPoint presentations, advice on Revision Technique, ScreenSavers and desktop 'Wall-papers' of some of the 'Professor Messer’ cartoon covers of the book and the 'LessonLoader' software for those who have a data-projector. This freeware allows the user to build up a ‘play-list’ of computer files, before using this list to facilitate a presentation. This piece of software will find a myriad of uses throughout the curriculum. The PowerPoint presentations aim to make clear points – ‘Charging by Friction’ and ‘Dispersion by a Prism’ both have clear illustrations and clarity of text. They could find their way into a large number of schemes of work. This site will be particularly useful for people using 'GCSE Physics for You', but will also be useful for anyone teaching or learning Physics.  (Added: 7-Dec-2004 By: DP Hits: 777)
  • PhysNet - - the worldwide Network of Physics Departments and Documents - provides a set of information services for physicists. This includes PhysDep (links to nearly all Physics Institutions worldwide, PhysDoc (links to document sources of the distributed Physics Institutions) and Journals (lists journals which are available with free fulltext on the web).  (Added: 17-Jan-2001 By: DP Hits: 601)
  • splung.com - physics revision, tutorials and forum. - Splung.com aims to provide a resource for A-level and undergraduate physics students. There is a forum where people can ask questions and get help. The site uses Flash to simulate many concepts in physics.  (Added: 22-Jan-2007 By: CH Hits: 282)
  • The Physics Classroom. - Useful to reinforce 'A' level & GCSE teching of Newton's Laws, waves & refraction, with clear diagrams, text & questions.  pop   (Added: 4-Nov-1998 By: rs Hits: 7079)
  • the physics store - An archive of paper based resources (worksheets, tests, etc.) that are free for downloading (in zipped format).
