  • A tutorial on acids and bases - From the University of Columbia, Department of Chemistry, this tutorial contains notes and self-directed quiz exercises designed to help students with the fundamental concepts of acid-base chemistry. It is aimed at students with no prior knowledge of acid-base chemistry, hence is appropriate for level three students in the UK. There is an introduction to acids and bases followed by 20 different sections, each accompanied by a short test.  pop   (Added: 15-Mar-2004 By: dp Hits: 4077)
  • A tutorial on balancing chemical equations - From the Ohio State University, Department of Chemistry, a tutorial on balancing equations that includes Shockwave audio and animation. Includes information on the meaning of chemical equations and exercises on balancing by inspection, before moving on to more complicated situations.  pop   (Added: 15-Mar-2004 By: dp Hits: 3753)

  • Chemistry links - From the Becta tre, a large collection of Chemistry teaching related links. Included are links to quia files, animations, periodic tables and more.  (Added: 13-Feb-2005 By: DP Hits: 1448)
  • Chemistry Teaching Resources - A comprehensive list of chemistry teaching resources on the internet from the Department of Analytical Chemistry at Umea University in Sweden. There's an excellent set of links on this site on a variety of topics including online chemistry journals; the history of chemistry; software for chemistry; resource lists for chemistry; safety advice. There's also a number of links to periodic tables. This site is especially, but not exclusively, useful for more advanced level chemistry, e.g. CSYS or Higher Still and A-level.  pop   (Added: 12-Jan-1999 By: r Hits: 5122)
  • Chemistry Video Resources for Science Teachers - This web site provides video and other resources for KS3/4 and Salters AS/A2 chemistry teachers. The resources include powerpoint presentations, notes and other information to get the best out of the video resources. The resources were produced in 2006/2007 as part of a UK Gatsby Teaching Fellowship.  (Added: 11-Feb-2007 By: EB Hits: 1844)
  • Chemistry Webercises Directory - a directory for a limited number of educational chemistry resources on the www - at three levels, introductory, general & organic courses.  (Added: 13-Jun-1998 By: DP Hits: 1599)
  • CHEMIX Software for General Chemistry - This site contains chemistry education software for students and teachers (high school, college and university level). CHEMIX Calculator tools: Molecular (handles isotopes, amounts..), thermochemical, balance (stoichiometric), solubility product, weak acid/base, buffer, electrochemistry, periodic table (history, 22 physical properties, NMR-data), a dictionary...Downloadable English and Norwegian versions.  (Added: 22-Dec-1999 By: AS Hits: 1427)
  • CITRUS (Chemical Industry Resources User Site) - Part of an educational research project looking at the areas of pre-university chemistry teaching which are concerned with the Chemical Industry, specifically concerned with Internet resources. Included links to resources.  (Added: 13-Jun-1998 By: DP Hits: 887)
  • Collision theory animations - a series of animated models which can be used to illustrate ideas behind the kinetic theory. These models are for experimenting with and having fun - by clicking and holding a stationary 'particle' you can drag the particle back to give it energy. The number of collisions between different coloured balls is counted (equivalent to a reaction). For example although not prompted to, any stationary 'particle' can be grabbed and "twanged". Thus a newton's cradle can be made or the catalyst model can be tested by a slow particle. These applets should find a multitude of uses - from interactive teacher-led demonstration on a large screen to individual exploration. They require a recent version of Java.  pop   (Added: 25-May-2005 By: dp Hits: 2673)
  • Creative Chemistry - an excellent resource for Chemistry teaching, particularly for the AQA GCSE Double Award scheme. It includes many downloadable worksheets (in .pdf format) organised into the AQA modules, worksheets, teachers' and technicians' notes for the ‘Creative Chemistry’ activities, interactive revision quizzes, puzzles, links and the "Sc1 Tune-up Garage". The site is also searchable.  pop   (Added: 11-Mar-2000 By: DP Hits: 4204)
