- Bagheera: A Site for Endangered Species - A graphically stunning site which will provide information for students at Key Stage 3 studying animals and conservation. There are detailed pages within the site that could be used by older students in project work on ecosystems and habitat loss. There is a current news site and extensive links to associated resources. Well worth a look by all interested in endangered species.(BBC)

- Biological Control Virtual Information Center - Exploring and evaluating 'biological control', this site outlines the use of natural predators in controlling insect pests. It includes disadvantages and advantages of using biological control methods and lists recommended natural enemies to be used. There is a database of pests' natural enemies in a factsheet that could be useful in support. The topic is required for the GCSE Science higher paper, and is also part of environmental modules of 16+ courses in biology.

- English Nature - English Nature is the statutory conservation agency in England and this website provides information on such issues. It also has information on special conservation areas in, for example, the South Yorks. region. Publications/research can also be ordered from the site. I have studied ecology and I found this site invaluable.

- Environmental Concepts Made Easy - An excellent site dealing with the health risks associated with environmental pollutants. The oestrogens (and other hormones) pages are a well written and informative, although a reasonable grasp of biochemistry will help. 'Lead's Urban Legacy' is an easier read. It advises on protection from over-exposure to the environmental sources of the metal as well as the health effects. 'The Astrobiology Centre' is where to find research on the effects of microgravity on human health. An excellent site dealing with the health risks associated with environmental pollutants.
