- Collision theory animations - a series of animated models which can be used to illustrate ideas behind the kinetic theory. These models are for experimenting with and having fun - by clicking and holding a stationary 'particle' you can drag the particle back to give it energy. The number of collisions between different coloured balls is counted (equivalent to a reaction). For example although not prompted to, any stationary 'particle' can be grabbed and "twanged". Thus a newton's cradle can be made or the catalyst model can be tested by a slow particle.
These applets should find a multitude of uses - from interactive teacher-led demonstration on a large screen to individual exploration. They require a recent version of Java.
